Vintage Winter

A few weekends ago, my husband and I went for a much needed road trip.  It’s something we try to do on a regular basis to keep from feeling, well, stuck.  It’s a surefire way to clear the cobwebs from the proverbial attic and get a fresh perspective and the Finger Lakes is one of my favorite places to get lost.

Despite a bitter snowstorm the day before, the sunshine seemed to be on our side.  We filled the afternoon with diner food and local beers, exploring every roadside secondhand store we could find.  In the rear parking lot of one such shop, we discovered this mysterious collection of antique kitchen appliances.  Judging from their patina, these pieces had some serious stories to tell.  But there they sat behind the old warehouse, silently growing older under the snow, still as strong as ever.   Reminded me of Buffalo, somehow…
